The Brief
Shell commissioned The ADWEB Agency to develop a dynamic new website which would give customers more of an insight into the popular brand - Shell Optimax, a high octane, premium unleaded petrol.
The Challenge
The new website needed to appeal to a broad demographic, from prestige car owners, to V8 Supercar fans and motorcycle enthusiasts. Visitors needed to be able to learn more about the benefits of using the product, feel like they were part of a select community, and download engaging multimedia content.
The Success
The ADWEB Agency created an inspirational flash website for motor enthusiasts, featuring advanced navigation that could be positioned anywhere on the screen. Clever flash animations were developed to provide important educational information, while a fuel locator application permitted users to swiftly locate their closest Shell Optimax outlet. Arguably the first feature of this kind in Australia!
In 2004, The ADWEB Agency created the popular Shell Optimax V8 Racing game. Developed in flash, the game required users to race a top-down V8 Supercar against 'intelligent' computer opponents. With the release of Shell Optimax Extreme, ADWEB continues to develop animated content for the Shell Australia website.
